The Mini Muster start line is approximately 25km from Lake Tekapo, at Godley Peaks Station.
If you are staying in Lake Tekapo on Friday night you will need to drop your bike off to the start line at Godley Peaks Station BEFORE 9:00pm. We will have security in place to ensure your bikes are secure overnight on Friday.
If you are planning on arriving in Lake Tekapo on the morning of the race you will be able to drop your bike off at the Race Village BEFORE 6:15am and we will transport your bike to the start line.
You will need to indicate when you enter whether you are dropping your bike off on Friday night or only arriving in Tekapo on Saturday morning.
ALL COMPETITORS IN THE MINI MUSTER WILL BE TAKEN TO THE START LINE BY BUS.
Busses will leave the Race Village in Lake Tekapo at 6:30am to have you at The Mini Muster Race Village by 7:00am. You will then be able to get your bike and prepare for the race briefing which is at 7:45am.
There will be a Bag Drop at Godley Peaks Station where you can leave your last-minute belongings. We will transport these back to the main Race Village in Lake Tekapo. You will need your race number to collect your bag once you finish your race.
The start will be via a classic kiwi 'Bark Off' - when the shepherd gets their dog to bark, that is the start gun.
Riders must position themselves in order of competitiveness. There will be a 10 minute window for riders to start the race to allow for a good spread throughout the pack.
We highly recommend all The Mini Muster competitors register on Friday between 4pm - 8pm at the main Race Village on the Village Green in Lake Tekapo. This is near the lake edge, in front of the shops.
ON THE MORNING OF THE RACE YOU CAN ONLY COLLECT YOUR RACE PACK FROM THE RACE VILLAGE IN LAKE TEKAPO. THIS IS SITUATED ON THE VILLAGE GREEN NEAR THE LAKE FRONT.
No Race Registration will occur at Godley Peaks Station for The Mini Muster.
If you are registering on the day you will need to collect your Race Pack from the Race Village in Lake Tekapo between 6:00am - 6:30am.

The main Race Village is less than a 10 minute walk from most accommodation options in the township. There are limited parking options in the village so we ask that The Muster competitors ride to the start line.
Please let your supporters know that they are best to walk to the Race Village and around the Lake Tekapo village to access the shops and businesses.
NO SUPPORTERS ARE ABLE TO VIEW THE MINI MUSTER START LINE. All competitors will be bussed to the start line.
We are not gear checking competitors and their bikes before the event. However there will be spot checks before the start of the race, and also out on course.
If someone is found to not be carrying the required gear they will be disqualified from the race.
All gear requirements can be found on the Rules and Safety page (click on the image).
It is up to each competitor to ensure they are carrying the required gear and that their bike is in a suitable condition to complete The Mackenzie brought to you by Devold.
The Macaulay Aid Station will have a Bag Drop option. You will be able to leave a change of socks/shoes etc and any specific food requirements. If you are in the E Bike category, this is also where you will be able to leave your spare battery.
All bags need to be at Race Registration on Friday before 8:30pm. No bags will be able to be left on Saturday morning before the race unless by prior arrangement. (Please email luisa@scenicsports.net if you are only arriving in Lake Tekapo on Saturday morning and require an on course bag drop.)
Staff will give you a label to attach to your bag.
We will be bringing the bags back to the Finish Line at the end of the event. You will not be able to drive up to this Aid Station to collect your used bag. You will have to wait until the completion of the race where our crew will transport the bags back to Lake Tekapo.
