For 2027, The Mackenzie has a brand-new home at Glenmore Station, just 15 minutes from Lake Tekapo.


With exclusive race-day access to private high-country stations, our new courses take you into landscapes rarely experienced by the public - from the wild beauty of the Cass Valley and the shores of Lake Alexandrina, to mountain tracks, high-country tarns and some seriously spectacular Mackenzie views.


Whether you ride it, run it or bring the kids along for their own adventure, The Mackenzie by Devold is about getting out there and experiencing the high country.

Steeped in history worthy of the big screen, the Mackenzie Region is a place shaped by pioneers, shepherds, farming families and generations of people who have worked this remarkable land.


The Mackenzie by Devold celebrates that heritage by taking you right into the heart of it. For one day only, private high-country stations open their gates and give you the opportunity to ride or run through landscapes rarely accessible to the public - following farm tracks, crossing creeks and experiencing the raw beauty of the Mackenzie high country.

Café style Aid Stations

This race is all about the on course vibes!! If you are out for an adventure make sure you stop at one of the café's on course for snacks and good times!

"Bark Off" Race Starts

Each race starts with the kiwi tradition of a 'bark off' with local shepherd's and their huntaways. 

When it's time to go the shepherd's whistle, the dogs bark, then the race begins! 

Social Perks

Social competitors are very welcome at The Mackenzie by Devold. 

At the Fork Stream Café we have the 'polaroid paparazzi'. Get your photo taken and bring it back to the finish line. We'll get your details and you'll go in the draw to win one of three incredible hampers awarded at the Prize Giving!
