Race Day Schedule + Bus Info

ALL COMPETITOR IN THE HUNTAWAY WILL BE TAKEN TO THE START LINE BY BUS UNLESS THEY ARE ARRIVING IN LAKE TEKAPO ON THE MORNING OF THE RACE - in which case competitors will get themselves and their bikes to the start line. (Please see specific options on The Huntaway page.)

Buses will leave the Race Village in Lake Tekapo at 6:30am to have you at The Huntaway Race Village by 7:00am. You will then be able to get your bike and prepare for the race briefing which is at 7:45am. 

5:45am Mackenzie Helicopters The Drover at the Race Village, Lake Tekapo.

7:45am Four Square Tekapo The Huntaway at Godley Peaks Station.

7:45am Bayleys The Muster at the Race Village, Lake Tekapo. 

8:45am  The Cyclery The Shepherd at the Race Village, Lake Tekapo.

9:15am Tekapo Springs The Merino at the Race Village, Lake Tekapo.

6:00am Mackenzie Helicopters The Drover - Lake Tekapo

8:00am Four Square Tekapo The Huntaway - Godley Peaks Station

8:00am Bayleys The Muster - Lake Tekapo 

9:00am The Cyclery The Shepherd - Lake Tekapo

9:30am Tekapo Springs The Merino - Lake Tekapo

Each race will start with a 'bark off' with New Zealand's iconic huntaway dog. The shepherd will whistle and the dog/s will start barking. This is the start. You will then have 5 minutes to cross the start line.

The rolling race start is designed to allow a good spread of competitors right from the start of the race. Please position yourself according to your desired outcome  - competitive at the front, casual bikers towards the back.
