- Post-event recovery station with drink & food
A portion of every entry goes towards local community groups such as; Tekapo Trails, Tekapo Lions, Tekapo School, Mackenzie College, Tekapo Kindergarten, Live To Run, Pilgrim Bandits. LandSAR marshals and the Swift Water Rescue team also benefit from your entry.
Every rider is contributing to the protection of the Black Stilt/Kakī. There are less than 200 birds left in New Zealand and they now reside only in the Mackenzie basin. There is a Kakī sanctuary on Godley Peaks Station and a portion of competitor's entry fees goes towards this.
