Friday 4th April between 3pm - 7:30pm at the Bayleys Mackenzie office in Lake Tekapo. This is at the Mackenzie Room, The Godley Hotel, Unit B/2-4 Rapuwai Lane, Lake Tekapo.
On the morning of the race between 5:00am - 9:00am (Please see your specific race information page as to the best times for you to register for your race.)
ON THE MORNING OF THE RACE YOU CAN ONLY COLLECT YOUR RACE PACK FROM THE RACE VILLAGE IN LAKE TEKAPO. THIS IS SITUATED ON THE VILLAGE GREEN NEAR THE LAKE FRONT.
No Race Registration will occur at Godley Peaks Station for The Huntaway. If you are registering on the day you will need to collect your Race Pack from the Race Village in Lake Tekapo.
ALL COMPETITOR IN THE HUNTAWAY WILL BE TAKEN TO THE START LINE BY BUS UNLESS THEY ARE ARRIVING IN LAKE TEKAPO ON THE MORNING OF THE RACE - in which case competitors will get themselves and their bikes to the start line. (Please see specific options on The Huntaway page.)
Buses will leave the Race Village in Lake Tekapo at 6:30am to have you at The Huntaway Race Village by 7:00am. You will then be able to get your bike and prepare for the race briefing which is at 7:45am.
5:45am The Drover at the Race Village, Lake Tekapo.
7:45am The Cairns Alpine Resort and Golf Club The Huntaway at Godley Peaks Station.
7:45am Bayleys The Muster at the Race Village, Lake Tekapo.
8:45am The Shepherd at the Race Village, Lake Tekapo.
9:15am The Merino at the Race Village, Lake Tekapo.
6:00am The Drover - Lake Tekapo
8:00am The Cairns Alpine Resort and Golf Club The Huntaway - Godley Peaks Station
8:00am Bayleys The Muster - Lake Tekapo
9:00am The Shepherd - Lake Tekapo
9:30am The Merino - Lake Tekapo
Each race will start with a 'bark off' with New Zealand's iconic huntaway dog. The shepherd will whistle and the dog/s will start barking. This is the start. You will then have 5 minutes to cross the start line.
The rolling race start is designed to allow a good spread of competitors right from the start of the race. Please position yourself according to your desired outcome - competitive at the front, casual bikers towards the back.
The Prize Giving is set so that most of the competitors have finished the event and everyone can come together and celebrate their achievements.
